1. Pushed some styling improvements to individual note pages as a result of some brainstorming earlier today. Splitting the content into Primary, Contextual, Metadata and Network will give me a solid foundation on which to add more information (e.g. mentions).

One thing I haven’t added is an “actions” section, mainly because of double-click-to-edit. That only applies to the main content, though, and I have some other actions like syndicate to facebook, so I should make a section for those.

  2. I propose this law of system personality:

Put a system in a box and it becomes a thing. Give a thing a name and it becomes a product. Give a product a brand/atmosphere and it gains a personality.

  3. Pushed lots of note UI updates to today, including porting almost all the to Backbone. Still :

    • Improving location UI: improve cancelled state text, fix located state
    • Make a view for note lists, inc. event handling like add new note to the list when it’s posted from the dialog. This will also minimise the number of requests.
    • Make the backend auto-add hashtags to the note tags property. It should have been this way all along.
  4. The second back is on after rather a stressful gluing session inside a small, dark shed with candles for light. Now I know a little more about what it must have been like to be a luthier in the Middle Ages.

  5. School grades are a measure of how socially acceptable your level of remembering–ability was when you did the exams, relative to everyone else.

Therefore, their meaning and value deteriorate over time. The value and meaning of things you create and add to the world generally increase with time (become more well-known, better used, refined, etc.)

  6. Just pushed a load of changes to auto-tagging which should make structured, tag–based querying of notes way easier.

This note should be tagged with mention, reply, quote and location as it contains all of that data.

Some Test Quote with a mention in
