@thatemil RRRR yes, ambiguous date formats are so stupid, especially when they’re on tickets (british rail, I’m looking at you)
Thoroughly enjoyed the #sfw hangout tonight, demonstrating #indieauth and learning about forkthelaw.org /cc @wardcunningham Aaron Parecki
Adventures in #pgsql, episode 1: Installed using aptitude. Went through create-new user dance. Figured out the template db is set to a useless encoding. Learnt how to regenerate the cluster using UTF-8.
Unhosted Adventures — a great guide to setting up your own #indieweb server /via Travis Wellman
Checked in to St. Mary's Church, Totnes for a #buzz rehearsal. Lots of nice tunes in our upcoming gig!
T1: Checking to see what’s up with the weird note author thing
Just finished watching Star Wars: A New Hope Uncut. A fantastic project which was surprisingly easy to get lost in despite constant character gender and species changes (sometimes mid-sentence).
aral oh so you're suggesting it'd be a Boolean attr? That I could get behind – easy to polyfill too.
aral I disagree, "continue" is confusing compared to start. Start = start from a number, continue = what? Continue from a number? So the list should start from that number plus one? Or continue from another ol (perhaps by using an id reference)?
I don't feel emotionally intelligent enough to write anything which adequately sums up my anger at the sexism-in-tech situation.
Fortunately, @sazzy, rellyab and many others are, and have. Props to you all, keep going, I will support you however I can.

Authentically Traditional by Robin Andrews is an interesting and welcome take on exactly what it means to be “authentic” in the context of #music /cc sophiedennis #bookmark #link
Watching Private Life of Plants, from the year I was born. It has aged well, and remains my favourite Attenborough series.
The value of #geo machine #tags and rev. geo coding: even though I don't yet have a fancy distance-queryable database, my notes can be queried by location. For example, notes I have posted in Devon.
Checked in at the Old Fort, Hembury whilst mapping the woods to help jwentomologist
Watching “Free, open, secure Communications” live stream at #fosdem #indieweb #fsw
Laurent Eschenauer have fun! Is anyone doing an etherpad/recording? #indieweb #fsw
