T1: Checking to see what’s up with the weird note author thing
Just finished watching Star Wars: A New Hope Uncut. A fantastic project which was surprisingly easy to get lost in despite constant character gender and species changes (sometimes mid-sentence).
Rolled out usage of the
menu element on #taproot. I’m looking forward to more browser support for HTML context menus, that will really open up the possibilities for cross-browser extensions
Pushed some styling improvements to individual note pages as a result of some brainstorming earlier today. Splitting the content into Primary, Contextual, Metadata and Network will give me a solid foundation on which to add more information (e.g. mentions).
One thing I haven’t added is an “actions” section, mainly because of double-click-to-edit. That only applies to the main content, though, and I have some other actions like syndicate to facebook, so I should make a section for those.#taproot #design #todo #web
Excited to make a way of linking up my web action delegates with FF OS Web Activities! https://hacks.mozilla.org/2013/01/introducing-web-activities/
Micro–semantics today (my take on things):
.abigailH hashtag discovery usage is low because of Twitters anaemic implementation. See Diaspora for a great, well-used implementation.
If you’re taking your website down for maintenance, for goodness sake leave both the takedown date and the estimated date it’ll be back, or there’s no chance anyone’ll “check back soon for updates!!!”

Implementing pingback alone has already caused me more headaches than any other aspect of #taproot. WHY XMLRPC, HIXIE?
