1. From Will.i.am I want to write code:

“I will not start an initiative until I've spent my own money. Because if I spend my own money, people who want to get on board afterwards know that I am serious about it.”

He used to go to nightclubs, but now he goes to conferences "which are better than clubs because they still have music and after-parties but you get knowledged-up before the party".

  2. Optimal video-splitting workflow on a mac:

    1. In Logic/QuickTime 7, figure out each of the ranges of video you want
    2. Open the movie in QuickTime 10
    3. Cmd + T to enter trim mode
    4. Set the handles to your range
    5. Cmd + shift + S to save as
    6. Close movie (export will continue)
    7. Repeat from 2 until complete
  3. Where are the contextual experiences?

So many apps and services assume you wish to have a long-term experience when a teprary one would suit you better.

For example, installing an app you're only going to use for a particular event. Or, subscribing to someone/thing for an event.

  4. Nick Charlton: @BarnabyWalters Actually, that’s not a bad idea. I wonder if they also have a way to mark something as being offensive?

Nick Charlton doesn’t look like it — I hit the button and (after hanging for a sec) it said “your vote(?) was greatly appreciated”. Not great design :/

  5. Oh dear, my little old macbook is complaining a bit today. First the battery goes, then the wifi repeatedly disconnects. I hope this isn’t the beginning of the end :(
