Wien, Österreich
As is typical for German/Austrian museums, Vienna’s Technical Museum is comprehensive and non-patronising. They have an impressive collection of industrial equipment from throughout Austria’s history, a physics wing with some interactive experiments I barely understood, and on the top floor there’s quite an impressive array of musical instruments, highlights of which include the only player-accordion I’ve ever seen, and a step-by-step exhibit illustrating how trumpets are constructed.
Unfortunately, as is typical for Austrian museums, there’s an entry fee of €10 for non-students, and slightly less if you have a student card.
