I don't think I've ever heard it mentioned, but many of these platforms are essentially digital Ollendorffs with some learning psychology of programmed repetition built into them.

It's a great idea, though my initial reaction was that Japanese, which I've been plodding along at lately, isn't available on Duolingo yet. But I've just checked, and apparently they've recently released a beta version of it there! Glad I ran across this.

shhh they don't know yet. They are all like 'look at us we're 3rd partials so special' but in the end they just add to the big noise.

In the end, 3rd partials are nothing but good old sines, too. But don't you dare telling them.

Got bored from that.. then listened to 3rd partials only (through SPEAR) before I went with white noise only.
