I’m rather impressed with guzzlephp.org’s HTTP Link header abstraction. Parsing Link headers and providing a simple API to check for the existence of/fetch links by rel is welcome attention to detail and cements it’s position as the only PHP HTTP client I will likely ever need.

I was astonished to learn that the 2012 value of the $30 Henry David Thoreau spent building his house beside Walden pond in 1854 could actually vary from $846 to $128,000!
Human Theremin using conductive ink #music #bookmark
Using hand built circuitry I was able to turn my sister into a fully functioning theremin, the idea being that eventually the equipment could be used by dancers to create music that relies entirely on choreography and body movement to generate sound as they dance. In this way the visual performance and the audio become intrinsically linked and thus the viewer is able to ‘see’ the sound as it is created.

.Josh Emerson’s stateless icon/progress loader on kylebean.co.uk is one of the most beautiful bits of design I’ve seen in a long time. Heads up: the back button does not work in Safari 5.1
The more interwoven the relationship between the appearance and the manufacturing process is, the more honest the material.
Too right. I love the way @kevingoldman advocates the use of movement, state and microcopy for emotive design on the web.
