Robin Andrews that’s the idea :) Use it for sarcasm, jokes, logging, diary, short conversations, political statements, quotes, links… just not conversation :) IRC/XMPP is better for that

Just had my first sushi, thanks to briansuda — wow, how have I not come across this before?
Laura Kalbag just the other day I was thinking that applications should accept those strings as valid email addresses, and parse them as such
Brennan Novak yeah, KEX is great. I had breakfast downstairs on the first day, but I’m kinda short on cash right now so DIYing all food :)
mikewalters37 thanks! Will do :)
Got the last few bits of rubbish out of what was my workshop, saw Jovian Salak (have fun in Nepal!), packed most of my luggage and got all the bits of paper required to get to Iceland together. Leaving tomorrow at 12 noon, flight at 8 in the evening. Probably spending the hours at the airport watching studio ghibli films.
Brennan Novak more or less :) As ready as I’m likely to be. See you in April! #iceland
Brennan Novak by WebKit you mean “Chrome”, right? :)
Josh Emerson yep, functions perfectly now — nice work :)
Laurent Eschenauer thanks for the heads-up, on closer inspection it looks like the problem is on your end — the URL in the with
attribute of the action element has that quote at the end
Jovian Salak thanks :) If anything it means I’m more likely to get work when I get back — people are starting to find me, which can only be a good thing.
Tantek Çelik side note: nice to see that they list attendee’s URLs instead of twitter names :)
I hadn’t checked my mentions for a few days, then I get this from Laurent Eschenauer and find that I’ve had pingbacks from some other people too! All of whom have chosen to mention me on their own domain. I am honoured. This stuff works :) #indieweb
Laurent Eschenauer I love #lynx — I use it every time I’m thinking about performance, to remind me just how much slowness is down to all that decoration and fancyness :) And also to see just how crappily marked up modern “web apps” often are ahem facebook ahem
.Josh Emerson’s stateless icon/progress loader on kylebean.co.uk is one of the most beautiful bits of design I’ve seen in a long time. Heads up: the back button does not work in Safari 5.1
sophiedennis I love that, it sums up all the other codes in a single line :) but just in case you ever do need to write a full one with minimum hassle, the indiewebcamp one is CC0 and therefore highly copyable :)
cssquirrel even the if/else is redundant ;)
function awesomeWorkday(tasks) {
return (tasks instanceof coolJsonStuff || tasks instanceof coolApiStuff) ? true : false;
}
brad_frost woah, that URL almost beats http://twas.brillig.and.the.slithy.toves.did.gyre.and.gimble.in.the.wabe.all.mimsy.were.the.borogoves.and.the.mome.raths.outgrabe.jabberwocky.com/ in the Most Hideous “fluent” URL competition ;)
