@seldaek apparently you can! packagist.org/packages/barnabywalters/gist-test#v0.1.0 Agreed it’s unlikely to be optimal for a lot of cases, but worth experimenting with reducing code sharing friction and boilerplate

@_aitor what is the use case and how does h-recipe fail to address it? #microformats IRC on freenode is a better place to discuss it than twitter
Looks like gists can be used as minimal @packagist #composer package repos: https://gist.github.com/barnabywalters/8824041 https://packagist.org/packages/barnabywalters/gist-test — might be nice for tiny (e.g. single function) packages.
#TIL about·the·interpunct enwp.org/Interpunct — turned up in some customer-submitted CSVs at work.
Latest #PHP library extracted from #taproot: github.com/taproot/archive your personal opinionated, #indieweb HTML archiver.
Been in use for just over a month now on waterpigs.co.uk, archived 120MB of HTML I’ve linked to/has linked to me.
@voxpelli thanks for the links, auphonic looks like a great service! Certainly going to look into using that for automating stuff like audio encoding.
Soundcloud down or broken too often now. Time to implement #indieweb audio posting UI in #taproot.
@benwerd …owls?
With tentacles?
@emckean feed my lizard
#TIL 7th January is the Japanese Festival of Seven Herbs day enwp.org/Nanakusa_no_sekku — might try making some of the herb rice porridge next year
Heading over to Háskolatorg for HÍ Japanese day festival.
At any given time my web archive HTTPS to HTTP domain ratio is almost exactly 1:10. Right now it’s at 410 HTTP domains and 41 HTTPS domains. Note that this is just the count of the domains I link to (and which link to me), unweighted by the number of actual physical links.
Sighted a majestic sky whale hovering low over the mountains to the south-east of Reykjavik this morning.
Any assertion that it was in fact some ski slopes lit up in the dark will be met with insistent mutterings about celestial cetaceans.
Finished off a tiring 15000 step day with my best Spanish-style hot chocolate yet: milk, cornstarch, vanilla, dark chocolate, cinnamon, himalayan salt, a little licorice, masala curry powder and crumbled walnuts. mmmmmmmm.
Favourite quote from Shaping Things by @bruces so far:
“What is a “brand”? It’s a mark seared into the surface of something. Is that the best you can do in the way of establishing a relationship between us?”
@LapTop006 @kevinmarks somehow I doubt that’s going to end well, e.g. “I just had a great idea for a thing!”
“Check out this thing I just bought!”
“There’s a thing on my wrist!”
“I’m wearing a thing!”
“I need a raspberry pi and some sensors so I can make a thing!”
It’s hardly a specific term which enables efficient, productive communication :)
The @technicalhumans blog blog.technical.io is a wonderful resource. I love how they de-mistify the processes behind designing, building, testing and shipping hardware for tinkerers.
Ubiquitous computing demo video from 1995 demonstrating seamless creative collaboration across devices and space: http://www.ubiq.com/hypertext/weiser/quicktime/UbiCompTeaScene.qt
Their acting isn’t great but the technology is impressive.
What’s your favourite general term for internet-of-things-connected devices/objects?
