You realise that in my mind this attitude basically makes you some sort of fearless adventurer wizard hero, who, ARMED with his MAGIC LIGHTS, fears not the CHECK-IN DESK and FLYING METAL BOXES and requires no A4 SHIELD to ward off the spectres of GETTING LOST IN SOME OTHER COUNTRY
@aaronpk oh wow, I would be terrified that the magic lights would break or not work or run out of power or get lost or crash. I trust paper waaaay more than magic lights and can’t travel without my wad of A4 pieces of paper :)
Genuine question to people who #travel a lot: does the whole “pressing buttons and making lights change colour, then printing the results out onto A4 sheets of paper which magically enable you to travel to different countries” thing ever stop feeling profoundly weird?
The fact that pressing buttons and watching lights on a screen change lets me fly to another country still weirds me out.
Finally managed to book transport for Halsway Gurdy Weekend. See you on Feb 7th, fellow #gurdy enthusiasts!
Weird luggage on my KEF flight: overly decorative trophy in hand luggage, two tatty cardboard boxes held together with tape in hold luggage. Apparently this is a thing now. #travel
Packing for return to Reykjavik tomorrow I realise I’ve doubled my sock count. I believe that constitutes a good trip.
Just saw the mini maker fayre seagull model paraded in the street and had the strangest desire to salute
Checked into Hostel By The Sea, Brighton. Mmmm cottage pie. #travel
Frantically downloading Brighton map tiles @ BSI Reykjavik #travel
Aral Balkan just booking my flights+accommodation etc., any news RE the design workshop you mentioned? Would be handy to know if solidified so I can adjust travel plans :)
Got the last few bits of rubbish out of what was my workshop, saw Jovian Salak (have fun in Nepal!), packed most of my luggage and got all the bits of paper required to get to Iceland together. Leaving tomorrow at 12 noon, flight at 8 in the evening. Probably spending the hours at the airport watching studio ghibli films.
Back in Devon after a great fake-birthday weekend in London. Ate far too much cake, and watched more Captain Scarlet than probably healthy.
joviansalak my birthday! And to see some relatives, and buy supplies for Iceland. And ice cream :)
Walking onto the quiet carriage, I notice a man lying under several of the seats. Not quite sure what to think.
Off to London!
