What I would really like is to be able to make some posts public except for specific aspects. In that way I could, say, announce details of a meeting at a local hackspace in Manchester - and exclude the rest of the world from having it turn up in their stream. That way I could also create links to the post on twitter, FB and identi.ca - as most of my contacts on those systems are local. Instead I end up creating an extra Posterous blog post, and linking to that - which is more work.

I'm prepared to use my aspects to keep my social circles separated, but well - there is not so much to separate by now. But I'm evangelising all the time. :)

Interesting. I'm looking at the pen from my ancient Graphire series right now (used a pair of flush diag cutters instead of pliers). What does that change? How far back down the line does that apply? (I don't have the problem that I know, just curious.)

@Chris first instrument I ever made (5 years ago, when I was 12) was a cigar box hurdy gurdy. Old bit of washing line for the string and a pencil for the axle. Never again :)

I've wanted to build one for a couple of years. If I were to build one, it would be rather in the spirit of a cigar box guitar. I am not much of a luthiere.

I live in a relatively high population area, and it still took me a 100 mile round trip to get mine (but that was over 6 years ago). Good luck with the ebaying.
