    I had a similar problem with the email part of this--here’s how I got around the issue of having to have a new email address--the only caveat is that it requires you have a @gmail account (afaik). you can signup with paypal with the same email address, just put a period somewhere in the login name. Gmail ignores periods in your address, so it won’t differentiate between b.walters@ and bwalters@ for example. All emails from paypal will still go to your old address. You'll have to create a new account and password, but you won’t have to bother with making a new email address.
