Are any of my USA friends #mentalist fans? I’m not going to be able to see S6E8 until tomorrow evening, wanting to figure out if I need to avoid twitter in case of spoilers until then :)

For someone who doesn’t own a TV, I am unduly excited about next weekend. SO MUCH HYPE.
Every now and again I wonder if the same sort of fandoms which Adventure Time, My Little Pony et al have now would have arisen around things like The Clangers and Captain Scarlet if web culture had been as evolved (or even existed) in the 60-70s as it is now.
Would people cosplay as Jones the Steam, post videos analysing the character development in The Herbs, communicate using Noggin The Nog reaction faces and write erotic Portland Bill fanfics?
Actually, don’t answer that.
Spit-takes are better with ale and viking helmets. Wait, no. Everything is better with ale and viking helmets.
Just realised that I haven’t turned on the TV for a month. Instead been walking, making things, watching films, reading. Feels good.
It’s hard to take The Mentalist seriously now I follow crimershow #tv
#watching Insect Dissection. Amazing stuff, but I wish they'd stop using “insect” and “bug” interchangeably.
For all his smugness and #gurdy misrepresentation, I’m actually really impressed with Howard Goodall’s conclusion to the Story of Music. In particular the closing segment, where he satisfyingly sums up the history of #music in about four sentences.
Most of the series was moderately interesting historical info, but concluding by linking the advent of the Play button to Bach’s notation style is quite profound.
Watching Private Life of Plants, from the year I was born. It has aged well, and remains my favourite Attenborough series.
joelestewart yeah, I found him quite irritating, and the Gurdy was completely misrepresented! But must be great for those less musically inclined.
Hurdy #gurdy sighting on BBC2, in the promo for The Story of Music, BBC2 .
Human Planet still makes the best use of subtitles I’ve ever seen. Strangely the punctuation has no text shadow, though.
