  7. At any given time my web archive HTTPS to HTTP domain ratio is almost exactly 1:10. Right now it’s at 410 HTTP domains and 41 HTTPS domains. Note that this is just the count of the domains I link to (and which link to me), unweighted by the number of actual physical links.

    It’s hardly a specific term which enables efficient, productive communication :)

    Each computer hardware form factor has gone through several names before one started to obviously dominate. Palmtop, PDA, handheld computer, smartphone, notebook, laptop, clamshell, netbook, portable computer, tablet, slate, touchpad computer, “phablet”.

    What should the new class of devices being created under the “internet of things” banner be referred to as?

  20. Quite disgusted by the sales copy on sen.se/store/mother — an interesting idea creepily presented. What’s the physical metaphor for the “mother” itself? Or does it end up being just a weird looking ornament, awkwardly placed within ethernet-cable distance of the home router?
